Lunati has been posting her stories and needed a picture of Cenia in her Zengre form. Cenia wasn't invested in engineering until her untimely demise. Cassandra built this form to contain her sister's soul, giving her a second chance. She's not often seen outside of her puppets.

Painting for Cenia, my wife's undead/lich character. This is only one of her forms. Inside of her chosen puppet is a Zengre, which looks like a little mechanical ferret controlling the form with buttons and levers.

'Cenia absorbed some basic engineering knowledge from her sister, Cassandra, but didn't actively participate in the construction of Zengre until after her own "accident". She was born a white ferret with black eyespots and markings. When she lost her body in an accident, Cassandra bound Cenia's soul to a Soul Ruby implanted in one of her Zengre, which Cenia then uses to control a larger mechanical or skin to serve as her puppet. Any time Cenia's puppet breaks down, she can simply crawl out and find a new one, if the old form is too much trouble to repair'.

Tasmin the thylacine wakes up and peeks outside of her cave. Boy, this piece is a real fossil. It's one of those paintings I worked on, bit by bit, over the course of many years. I started it back in 2009, spent a few weeks on it and forgot about it until it was time to update Tasmin's profile sometime in 2015. I found it again in 2017, bumped up the resolution, added echidna and kookaburra friends for Tas and just repainted everything. I had absolutely no grasp on color theory in 2009, so the foliage used to be this dull mint green with gross white highlights. I was never totally happy with how Tasmin herself turned out. Given how much I've fussed with this painting and the history behind it, I'll probably dig it up again in 2021 to add Space Otters or some shit.

A snow leopard/peregrine gryphon named Gryofalco was the first gryphon used to transport visitors to and from the Isles of Nimbaterra. He's the leader of the avian flight team on the Isles and bears the responsibility of training new recruits that come through. Gryofalco, while the mascot of Nimbaterra, is one of our least developed characters.

This cutie is Glimm, the three-tailed Kitsune character belonging to my wife. Glimm went largely undeveloped for over a decade until last year when we decided to use her in a role-playing game. Like many kitsunes, Glimm is a master of shapeshifting and fire magic. Although Glimm doesn't wear pants, nobody seems to mind. She's a prankster at heart and doesn't take anything too seriously.

A piece for my wife of her very first OC, Emerey the alchemist. She's a nekomata with two long purple tails, a love of fire, explosions, and causing all kinds of mayhem. Emerey's mentor, Nyx, lost her body in a potion brewing accident. In her panic, Emerey discovered the formula to create Soul Rubies, the same enchantment that binds a spirit to a gem, allowing Nyx to live on in the body of a magpie. This is the same magic that empowers Cassandra's Zengre beyond the limitations of classical machines.

• Good Morning

Tacoma hasn't always possessed the fun thing she's got in her hand. Some time ago, she had an intimate encounter with a futanari. When her DNA was introduced to Tacoma's, one of the genes responsible for shapeshifting reacted to transform her sex organs to match her partner's. Tacoma hoped to change it back, but it had already become a part of her base form. As time passed, she grew more comfortable with this change and today, she's quite happy with it. :)

This picture was tied into a very rough patch. I was struggling with art, depression and generally feeling like complete shit after a terrible start to 2018. Lunati saw this and suggested I draw something relaxing, "just for fun." She said I didn't have to share it, I didn't even have to finish it. I just had to draw something I liked, for myself, not tied into updates or my portfolio. This was the result. So much time went into it that this eventually grew into something I felt comfortable enough to share. A healing piece, and it's literal masturbation. Go figure.

• Morpheus the Sleeping God

The great drake, Morpheus, is a respected and revered deity on the isles of Nimbaterra. His presence brings vivid, joyful dreams and rejuvenating sleep to residents of the isles. He first came to the planet when the progeny of the wind and shadow goddesses was born, the original Gryphon Heart. He followed this individual to the isles to serve as their protector. In his shadow grew glorious, bright blue poppies that tower up to six feet tall and are renowned for having the most potent medicine. Morpheus is also in charge of giving the dying relief from their pain, as well as sending them off on a peaceful and pleasant dream in their final moments.

Morpheus has an important job on the isles, which he carries out once a year each winter on a day known as The Divine Harvest. For one day, he awakens and blesses the poppies that grow throughout Nimbaterra. This causes the plants to produce more medicinal opium as well as protecting those who use it from any of its ill effects. This lasts for the duration of the season. His blessing also helps the next year's crops grow healthy and strong. Once this task is complete, he finds a comfortable place to curl up, encases himself in iridescent stone and slumbers until next year's harvest is ready. Morpheus sleeps as long as he does to regenerate his gift, which he can only give once a year.

Lunati is Tacoma's partner in our stories. Her owner is my wife. We met on Furcadia in 2004 and have been married for some years now.

I really enjoyed working on this piece, for a few reasons. First, I love surprising Lunati with art and she's gets just as excited as I do developing my own characters. Second, the background actually started as pixel art which was upscaled and painted over (if the area looks familiar, it's from the Windy Ledge in CN). And third, her wings turned out even better than I expected. Lunati really hasn't had a consistent wing style in all the time I've been drawing her, and I think we finally found something that works well for her.

Cassandra is one of the big baddies in our universe. She builds mechanical constructs called Zengre and sends them to the Isles of Nimbaterra to attack Tacoma and other residents. The threat of these ongoing assaults has earned Cassandra a fearsome reputation. After years of suffering unspeakable cruelty at the hands of others, she relishes this newfound compliance and 'respect'.

• Tacoma - Frosty Morning

Tacoma stays toasty in her warm coat on a chilly early spring morning. I've been complimented on the green highlights in her hair. This painting took longer than many others since it was the first piece of Tacoma with long hair and all but her outfit went on to define her current style. This was done with the same mouse and brush I normally use, but I spent a lot more time keeping the lines consistent. There are still spots I missed. If I work on a piece long enough, details start to fade into the background and I won't know where unless I open the file some time later to study. I've left the remaining messy bits because I think it shows just how involved lining and painting can be with a basic brush tool and mouse.

A sheet of Holiday NPCS and festive sprites I've done for Club Nimbus (18+ dream in Furrabian Nights). Even Bartender Skye seems to have gotten into the holiday spirit. When someone picks up a cake in the dream, their avatar will walk around with a bunch of floating balloons until they eat or drop the item. The painted eggs each had a unique hold effect in our spring 2013 contest dream, Merry Meadows. Some of the sprites were never used, like the black cat and bat.

The art in Club Nimbus was a massive solo project that I worked on very slowly over the years. The plants, trees and outdoor items are among the oldest sprites in the dream. Lots of these objects were made toward the end of 2004 and 2005 back when I was still very much a pixel novice. When it was time to bring the dream back to furcadia around 2009 or so, I found it to be a better use of my time to dig up the old sprites and polish them up instead of creating all new things. The cliff and bridge pieces are the most recent additions, from around 2014.

Slowly uploading all of the sprites I made for Club Nimbus to my gallery. The Ice Cave was one of my favorite areas to work on. It's very tucked away so not many people have found it. There are some npcs inside the cave but we never had the chance to add any quests there.

Hopefully someday Lunati and I will have the opportunity to use some of these sprites for our own game.

• Various nature patches

Some patches I was commissioned to create for The Vale on furcadia, including an animated volcano, sunken ship, snowy dens and animated water. Also includes some npcs from my 2013 summer contest dream, Cove of Cinders.

• Forest and beach patches

A combination of forest and beach patches I was commissioned for around 2013. The water is animated and can be used to create little tide pools.

• Modern Home Dream

A private modern home dream I was commissioned to do in 2014, it uses the old furcadia palette but still looks pretty good to this day.

• Club Nimbus - Pygmy Gryphon

Smaller cousins of the Galeplume Gryphons, these mischievous avians make loyal pets and servants, even if they're too small to carry a passenger.
